Without a doubt the popular and religious celebrations make a difference in this part of the region of Ecuador or the world. These celebrations, such as the Procession of the "Niño Viajero", or The Feast of Corpus Christi and Septenario, are unique and magical; no tourist can fail to see these.

The Procession of the "Niño Viajero" is a parade that goes through the city the day before Christmas. Hundreds of children of all ages represent baby Jesus, accompanied by not only the three Magic Kings and pastors, but by different Ecuadorian ethnic groups; through chants and songs they honor "Christ Child".

The floats and the Mayorales, (children with lavish outfits, mounting horses adorned with candies, Christmas bread, fruits and typical dishes) parade to the sound of traditional chants and Christmas carols.
