Holy Week. The Catholic Church celebrates Holy Week for 7 days. It begins on Palm Sunday and there are many rituals and processions. On Good Friday, families gather together to eat a typical dish called Fanesca, a thick soup based on various types of beans and dried fish.

Holy Week is celebrated all over Ecuador.
